| Description | This group will undertake the annual FIRST Lego League challenge (Click here for early details). The group will have two principal tasks: (1) design, build and program a robot, using the Lego MINDSTORMS NXT system; and (2) prepare a research project associated with the 2007 theme entitled “Power Puzzle”. The details of the challenge will be released on September 5. The group will be limited to 10 people, the maximum number of participants on a Lego League team, with preference to Monday coop families (if the group does not fill with Monday families, other days may participate). We will expect to meet once or twice over the summer, probably in August, and at least one evening a week in addition to the Monday meeting. If the team chooses to participate in the competition, a preliminary robot-only competition will occur in November, with the first round of the actual competition being held in December. A minimum of 7 students are necessary for this group to meet. Lego League rules require ages be 9-14.
