| Description | Depending on who is in the group, this is either introductory or continuing from the Spring session. Come explore preventive health and healing that you can do yourself. Are you curious about remedies using your hands, body, and mind, about kitchen remedies, for yourself or others? Explore what "we know" about health and healing today as well as in earlier times. Be prepared to try out techniques in class and at home, keep a health journal, read, and prepare some remedies. We will do some self health assessment and choose together from among these topics: Acupressure and related techniques such as Reflexology, Ayurveda, Breathwork, Energy work, Homeopathy, Meditation, Laughter, Root Cause, both modern medicine and alternative approaches to Nutrition, Kitchen Remedies, and Movement. We'll take a peek at some healing systems and sources -- ancient, allopathic, and holistic. If you sign up for this class, please send me an e-mail about what topics are of most interest to you. If anyone is interested in taking on a research topic in this area, I am happy to serve as research advisor. This is a half-session exploration. |
