Study Group Style Lecture, Activity
Description As we study Newton's Laws of Motion, the students will gain an empirical and intuitive understanding of speed and velocity, and the relationships between force, mass and acceleration; conservation of momentum; how to use graphs and interpret their results.

Through hands-on activities we will investigate and gain an intuitive understanding of many of these concepts. A baseline knowledge is expected, however 10 minutes of each class will be spent reviewing concepts such as scientific notation, the metric system, conversions, scaling, basic algebra to ensure the students will be prepared for the following week.

The class format is lecture-based, with some hands-on activities. There will be homework for each class which is required to ensure everyone has the fundamental skills for the next lesson as well as to ensure a good understanding was gotten of the prior lesson. I am hopeful we can maintain a fairly rigorous but fun class.
