Description If you've used any sort of programming language (BASIC, HTML, LOGO, Java, you name it), you have used a language that was designed by someone. You might think designing a computer language is a complicated activity, but in fact it is quite simple, once you've mastered a few simple concepts. We'll look at some of the basics of handling computer languages (parsing), and do some "hands on" language design using open-source tools. It will be very helpful if you've had experience programming in Java, but mostly you should have a passion for programming computers to do your bidding.
