| Description | This is for true beginning writers. Typical 1st and 2nd grade stuff. We will create short non-fiction stories from children's own experiences, illustrate them and share with group. Stories might be as short as 10 sentences, one to three per page w/ an illustration. Spelling is not important at all. I will NOT be transcribing or helping with spelling--kids must write on their own. Depending on the makeup of the group, we may also work a little on some basic reading/spelling skills, like having a "sound of the day" and identifying words that fit. Might work a little on letter formation. |
