Voyagers Programs Fall 2008
For the Fall 2008 session, Voyagers is offering four registration options.
Guiding Principles:
Voyagers programs are open to all based on ability and interest rather than age. If you have questions about the suitability of a particular study group, please contact the instructor or send an e-mail to
info@voyagersinc.org. Instructors may ask that a child not participate in a particular group if that child is disruptive. Instructors may also request that parents provide help for a child in order that others may participate in a safe and respectful manner. Please do not register your child for a group in which he or she does not wish to participate.
Mondays (9:00AM - 3:00PM)
All ages coop
This is a full family program with many scheduled study groups for various ages. The Monday schedule includes varied class times and two community gathering times. In the morning, there is a half hour break for outside play, math, geography, and other games. After lunch there is a time set aside for Clubs and Teatime. On-going clubs, other one-day workshops (like making paper snowflakes) and seasonal parties (spring festival and Valentine's Day) happen then. Others enjoy this break in the schedule to play outside, hang out with friends, and enjoy tea-time treats baked or purchased by rotating volunteers.
Tuesday (9:00AM - 3:00PM)
All ages coop
This is a full family program with scheduled study groups for all ages as well as other activities. This is a smaller program with a less "busy" schedule. In addition to a variety of scheduled study groups, there is space preserved for impromptu and child initiated activities. Games, crafts, lego and outdoor play are available throughout the day.
Wednesdays (9:30AM - 3:30PM)
Older kids' coop
This is a day designed to accommodate quiet, serious study as an important part of the day. Please help us to preserve quiet space for those members who need it. Study groups are generally for Upper Elementary through High School. We have some activities designed to appeal to younger siblings in this session although we do not offer a full program for them. Toys, lego and books are available as well.
Thursday (1:00PM - 7:00PM)
Teen Session
The study groups in this session are generally targeted at high school level
or higher. There is also time to hang out with friends and socialize with
other teen homeschoolers. Teen members who attend this session are expected
to help with cleanup. Parents of teen homeschoolers also enjoy monthly
support meetings focused on specific topics.
Resource Center
Voyagers sponsors many activities in the
Resource Center that take place outside scheduled Coop times. Both the
Mock Trial team and the
Shakespeare Play have moved to the
Resource Center. A family Coop membership, for any number of days, includes a Resource Center membership.
To register as a Resource Center member, or to sign up for Resource Center "Member Only" activities (like Mock Trial and the Shakespeare Play), or to register for specific activities and events please go to
Resource Center registration.
In addition to these specific offerings, there are many other activities for parents and kids that happen throughout the year. For example, we have
teen activities planned as well as movie nights, guest speakers, single day activities and ongoing support groups.
If you wish to receive notices of these activities as they are planned, please ask to be added to our
mailing list or check our website often.
