Welcome!
Welcome to our production of
William Shakespeare's the VSC's Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter. We appreciate your interest and support! The play will be in rehearsal beginning in late September, 2009, with performances during Winter Break, from
January 8 - 10 and 15-17, 2009.
Please read the registration material completely prior to signing on. We’d like to make sure everyone’s on the same page about what is required to mount a full production of one of the Bard’s plays (or something like it). While the Fall schedule is very similar to the production of
The Tempest, there are some important differences.
Of special note: there will only be nine days of uninterrupted Winter Break for those involved with Romeo and Ethel. Families with travel plans over Winter Break should check the schedule carefully.
Important: Workshops, covering a variety of topics on theater and on Shakespeare in particular, are open to all Voyagers members, even those who do not want to participate in the full production of
Romeo and Ethel. The Workshops will run Thursday mornings and Monday late afternoons from Sept 3 through Sept 21. Registration for the Workshops only (not for
Romeo and Ethel) will take place in August. For more information, jump to
Workshops: Six Sessions of Theatrical Work and Play.
Also Important: We have openings for musicians who don’t want to act, but would be interested in fully integrating their music-making into the production of
Romeo and Ethel. Read on, especially the sections about
The Play and
Auditions in
Registration Information.
Josh and Liz are having a blast playing with
Romeo and Ethel - you should hear some of the conversations we have! Do you have questions about the Workshops? Comments about our plans? Ideas burning a hole in your imagination right now? You can post here:
