September 2009 - January 2010

Mounting a full-scale production of any play requires a high level of dedication from those involved, both on-stage and behind the scenes. If you’ve been involved with the company in the past, please be aware that our schedule is essentially the same as last year's production of The Tempest and half the weeks of VSC plays before that. As a production team, we are confident that we can put together an amazing production with you - as long as all involved are available on our required dates. Please double-check your family calendars before committing!

Sept 3: Workshops begin, the week before Voyagers Coop begins.

The Workshops: Six Sessions of Theatrical Work and Play continues on Thursdays, 9:00 - 12:00 and Mondays, 3:15 - 5:15 through Sept 21. Remember, these sessions are largely optional, plus they involve choice. You won’t have to be there for all of the possible hours of Workshop sessions.

Sept 17, 21 and 24: Auditions!

See the Auditions for a full description. On Sept 17, we’ll set aside an hour of the Workshops time to see how many performing skill(s)/music try-outs we can complete - most acting tryouts will be on the 17th or 21st. Those attending NBTSC will do both music and acting tryouts on Sept 17, when auditioning will begin at 8:00 am. There will be special prizes for those volunteering to show up early!

Sept 28: Rehearsals begin.

In general, rehearsals are scheduled for Thursdays, 9:00 - 12:00 and Mondays, 3:15 - 5:15.

Oct 13, 3:15 - 5:15: The one Tuesday rehearsal before Tech Week.

Columbus Day is the day before, so this replaces what would be a Monday rehearsal on October 12.

Nov 29, 3:00 - 6:00: The one Sunday rehearsal before Tech Week.

This replaces the Thursday rehearsal missed on Thanksgiving Day, but will be structured more like a Monday rehearsal, with fewer actors called.

Nov 20 and Dec 18: The only Fridays before Tech Week, times to be announced.

We are holding Friday, Nov 20, and will determine its particular use by September. We may have workshops, rehearsals, or set construction. Friday, Dec 18 will probably include a rehearsal and setting the theater space up for our use after Winter Break.

Dec 20 - Dec 28: Winter Break for Romeo and Ethel.

No required rehearsals or meetings. REMEMBER: These are the only nine days of true Winter Break.

Dec 28: Intense Production Period begins.

From Mon, Dec 28 through Sat, Jan 17, when the production is over (barring snowdates), there will be only three days when nothing scheduled for the production of Romeo and Ethel. (These free days are Dec 31, Jan 1, and Jan 7.) The actual schedule of these rehearsals, run-throughs, tech rehearsals, and dress rehearsals will be available in September. If things are going tremendously smoothly, we may be able to drop some of these days. Yes, we will be off Jan 7, the day before opening night. This is intentional. Liz calls it "Wash Your Undies Night."

Performances of Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter:

Friday, Jan 8, 2010 7:00 pm
Saturday, Jan 9, 2010 7:00 pm
Sunday, Jan 10, 2009 3:00 pm
Friday, Jan 15, 2010 7:00 pm
Saturday, Jan 16, 2010 7:00 pm
Sunday, Jan 17, 2010 3:00 pm

Followed by set strike unless there will be a snowdate performance the following weekend. In that case, we'll leave the set up during the next week - no coop will be in session. All cast, crew and families are expected to help strike the set.

Jan 21, 10:00 - 12:00: Wrap up for cast and crew - post production meeting

Snowdates and/or Extra Performances:

Friday, Jan 22, 2010 7:00 pm
Saturday, Jan 23, 2010 3:00 or 7:00 pm
Sunday, Jan 24, 2010 3:00 pm

If the show is selling very well, or if one or more of the shows gets snowed out, we will add one or more shows the following weekend. If one of the evening performances is snowed out, production time will be 7:00. Followed by set strike. All cast, crew and families are expected to help strike the set.
